Our purpose

Our purpose is to contribute to the flourishing of children in need in every dimension. That is Article 4 of our statutes.

The wording of Article 4

“The Association’s purpose is to contribute to the flourishing of children in need in every dimension.” The text is short, and each of its terms narrows our field of action.

To contribute. We do not claim to take the place of families or of the public authorities. The preamble to our statutes is explicit: the efforts made by the Togolese State for disadvantaged people deserve the support of people of good will. That is where we stand.

Children in need. The statutes name the beneficiary precisely. They are, in the words of the preamble, one of the most vulnerable groups in the population.

In every dimension. This clause governs the way we put our projects together: it forbids us to address schooling without health, or training without the prospect of work. The five objectives of Article 5 are what that requirement means in practice.

Objectives, areas and ways we act

From that sentence come our statutory objectives, our areas of work and the ways we act.
